16-Bit Coriolanus

By William Shakespeare, Adapted/Directed by Kelvin Wong and Andrew Peters
October 20-23, 2016 – The Actors Studio / Indicine Stage, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)

Presented by The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat as part of the Shakespeare 400 festival.

Post-war: Roman general Caius Marcius earns the title of “Coriolanus” for saving his city from foreign intruders. As the new Consul, he makes clear his contempt for modern democracy: it is a weak and easily manipulated system. Public unrest and betrayals within the senate follow, causing him to be sent into exile. Meanwhile, Coriolanus responds by seeking help from the intruders for a showdown Rome will never forget…

16-Bit Coriolanus is presented through the nostalgic lens of 90s video games. Expect familiar tropes in an animated, fast-paced, high-octane fantasy world.
